Some British families who hosted Ukrainians have turned to the country’s government with a request to increase funding. The owners are demanding that their allowance be doubled from £350 to £700 a month, writes The Independent.
Approximately every fourth resident of the UK, who provided a roof for Ukrainian refugees, according to the National Statistical Service, intends to voluntarily refuse to participate in the migrant reception program within the next 6 months. This is attributed to the difficult economic situation within the United Kingdom.
In order not to be left on the street, more than a thousand Ukrainian refugees have already signed a collective letter demanding that they make it easier for them to move to the UK for permanent residence.
At the beginning of July, more than 100 Ukrainians found themselves homeless in the country. There are two reasons: the refusal of a number of local residents to accept them at home, despite the initial agreements, as well as “unsuitable conditions” for living, which did not suit the refugees.
