The brightest planets Jupiter and Venus will gather in the sky together
[ad_1]
As promised last week, the two brightest planets in the night sky, Jupiter and Venus, are approaching each other. This week the planets will meet in close conjunction on March 2nd.
Venus will be the brighter of the two and will be the first visible after sunset. Jupiter’s light will then cut through the twilight, gradually increasing in brightness as the night deepens and the vapor falls inexorably toward the horizon.
This connection will be visible all over the world. During March, the two planets will separate. Jupiter will sink closer and closer to the Sun and will be unseen for a while until it reappears in the morning sky during the summer months. Venus will continue to move away from the Sun, becoming the evening star in the western sky.
