The boys from the village of Pronosnoye built a unique Internet hut

If earlier life in small villages was seething near the club, now it is where there is Internet. In the village of Pronosnoye in the Perm Territory, the boys built a hut near the only Wi-Fi access point, which has become a favorite place for all the villagers. The guys themselves called it a “booth” and consider it their headquarters, because they are going there not only to “sit on the Internet”, but also to discuss which and how local residents can be helped. Almost like the heroes of the book “Timur and his team” by Arkady Gaidar, forgotten by the current generation.

Local residents, government officials and Timurovites themselves spoke about how the Wi-Fi barn appeared in a small village, as well as about the problems of the rural Internet.

“Earlier, under the program to eliminate network inequality, an access point was installed in the village of Pronosnoye,” explained Sergey Morozov, First Deputy Head of the Berezovsky District of the Perm Territory. – This is a small pole that distributes the Internet for free in a radius of about twenty meters near the store in the center of the village. That’s where local residents and young people began to gather.

And the boys built a small shed in this place, so that it would be convenient to hide there in the heat and rain. At the moment, cellular communication catches in the village, but partially – in some part there is a good reception, but somewhere not.

At the end of last year, there was a vote at the “Gosuslugi” to provide broadband Internet to settlements. As a result, a number of our settlements won, including the village of Pronosnaya. That is, by the end of this year, broadband Internet will be installed in it. In the meantime, this shed remains the only Wi-Fi point.

But, apparently, a lot of people use it there, because, as I was told, 13 TB were downloaded through this shared hotspot in 2022 alone. Large volume! Yes, there are such points in our other settlements, but it’s just that residents don’t build huts there.”

As a local resident Yuri Myasnikov said, this wooden structure was really built by local boys with their own hands:

– Our children (including my grandson Stepan), schoolchildren, boys made a hut so that they could hide there from rain and wind, it was convenient to use the Internet for free. There is not a tower, but a pillar of ten meters.

Do many locals use it? Yes, except for the guys, almost no one. Who needed it, Chinese amplifiers were installed at home.

I have my own Wi-Fi at home, regular, wired. Many have their own personal Internet in the village, everything is done. Of course, if there were optics so that this free Wi-Fi could transmit farther away, it would be nice. But the boys came up with a settling down! They built everything themselves.

A hut measuring two by three meters in total, but comfortable. Before, the boys ran to the bus stop, but it didn’t “penetrate” there, but here it’s great. Free is good. The locals love everything. We don’t have our own school, and in the morning the guys have time to sit there in front of the bus. Especially a lot of people gather in the summer. There is no chaos there.

I know that this year they will put up a normal tower in the village. My opinion about this “booth” is that it doesn’t harm anyone, it doesn’t stand on the road, it doesn’t interfere with anyone, on the contrary, it benefits us, the villagers. And we have enough young people. By the way, as in the book “Timur and his team”, they even discuss there who to help from the locals, who to chop wood, to bring water.

One of the builders of the Wi-Fi barn, 13-year-old Stepan Myasnikov, in a conversation with the MK correspondent admitted that he really became their real headquarters for the guys.

“We built it all together with friends so that we could hide from the weather, and in the summer from the sun. We have our own team in the village, seven people, for about a year and a half we all together and decided to equip a place where the Internet catches for free. And at first we had just a shop there. They were built from simple boards and branches. Someone brought nails, someone sawed, cut, sawed and built everything. They probably did it for two days. The parents didn’t mind.

This is our headquarters now! When we go for a walk, we all gather there, we sit on the Internet, talk, communicate. They called him among themselves “booth”. Why? Yes, because everyone communicates, everyone is on their phone, tablet, so it turns out a farce …

We have a table there, the neighbors gave it to us, the benches were made from boards. Sometimes we even drink tea there, we bring sandwiches. This is our gathering place. Of course, we want good Wi-Fi access in the village. But I come to the “booth” purely for the company to sit, discuss everything, because we have a lot of things in common!

So, according to Stepan, local guys often help lonely pensioners living in the village, the elderly.

“Of course, we are not “Timurovites” (yes, I read this book!), But we always try and who can be helped in the village. We clean up the monument to the “Heroes of the Fatherland”. In winter we throw off snow from the roofs of pensioners, we clean the paths for them, my friend chop firewood. In the summer, we also have a lot of initiative to help: we clean up the garbage, who asks, we carry water. Who is Timur in our team? We all! There is no one who speaks for everyone. We all love it!”
