The birthday of a Russian Hamas hostage was celebrated at a rally in Tel Aviv

Among those gathered for a rally in support of Hamas hostages in the center of Tel Aviv were dozens of relatives, colleagues and friends of Russian Alexander Trufanov. They celebrated his 28th birthday with the families of other abductees in the hope that they would soon be able to congratulate him in person.
Alexander Trufanov was captured on October 7 in Kibbutz Nir Oz near the border with the Gaza Strip along with his mother, grandmother and his girlfriend. The head of the family, Alexander’s father, apparently resisted during the Hamas attack and was killed. To this day, nothing is known about the fate of the Trufanovs.
On Saturday, Alexander turned 28 years old. His friends set the table right during the rally and placed photographs of the young man and his family on it. The celebration site was decorated with dozens of balloons.
“We hope that Sasha will return to us as soon as possible so that we can celebrate once again… We believe that all the hostages will return to their homes,” Ivan Shusterman, a member of the Trufanovyz family, told a RIA Novosti correspondent.
According to official data from the Israeli government, there are currently 239 people held hostage by Hamas.
On Tel Aviv’s theater square, a kilometer from the rally site, several installations were placed as a sign of solidarity with the families of the hostages. There are more than two hundred empty beds there. They symbolize that the hostages are deprived of the opportunity to sleep at home. On the second floor of one of the buildings there are 239 mannequins on display – the number of Hamas hostages.
