The President of Russia has instructed to create sports clubs in every school in the country by 2024. The Vologda region completed this task in 2023. More than 25 thousand children participate in sports within schools. Football, volleyball, basketball, tourism, chess, polyathlon, athletics, shooting, cross-country skiing, sambo and gymnastics are popular among young Vologda residents.
School sports clubs form teams that participate in competitions at various levels. Thus, a regional competition “Best School Sports Club” was held. Nikolsky District has become a leader in organizing recreational and physical education activities among schoolchildren.
Among urban school sports clubs, the first place was taken by secondary school No. 1 from Nikolsk, among rural ones – Argunovskaya secondary school of the Nikolsk district.
