Last Saturday, April 13, took place Kherson region championship in rapid chess among schoolchildren, reports the regional Ministry of Sports.
The scene was Skadovskaya School No.2. This is the third time such a tournament with a shortened time control has been held there.
According to the rules of the competition, young chess players played 10 games, performing in three age categories. In general, children from 7 to 15 years old took part.
In the overall standings, Sofia Aleshchenko took first place, Alexey Kudryavtsev took second, and Oleg Babich took third. All winners were awarded medals and diplomas. The children were also given memorable gifts.
