The winners of the Yamal Sports Elite 2022 competition have been determined in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. The awards ceremony will take place in Salekhard on May 16. This was reported in the press service of the Governor of the Autonomous Okrug.
“Yamal is proud of strong, athletic people. The winners of the Yamal Sports Elite competition are a direct proof of this. Thanks to the efforts that are invested in the work, Yamal athletes bring medals of the international, all-Russian, regional level to the treasury of the region. Each participant makes a significant contribution to the development of sports in Yamal and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle,” said Andrey Masanov, head of the YNAO Department of Physical Culture and Sports.
52 people will receive awards: athletes, sports veterans, coaches, judges, organizers of sports events.
In addition to the solemn ceremony, the sports elite of the district in the park of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory will have morning exercises with the participation of famous athletes and coaches of the Arctic region. The organizers also prepared an entertainment program, which included crossing the Arctic Circle in the district capital at the stele “66 parallel”, a trip to the museum of Yuri Neyelov.
Earlier we said that two medals Russian championships in pankration – gold and silver – were won by athletes from Yamal.
