The governor of the Pskov region awarded the best athletes and coaches in the region. The traditional “Champions Ball” was held on December 29, at the regional government. “MK in Pskov” was informed about this by the press service of the government of the Pskov region.
On this day, the best athletes with coaches, representatives of sports federations and workers in the field of physical education gathered together.
The head of the region noted the high results of the athletes, which they showed at all-Russian and international competitions with the participation of friendly countries. The athletes received 13 gold medals at Russian championships in various sports.
Separately, the governor focused on supporting athletes. Thus, in the Pskov region there is an additional measure of support for winning the Russian Championship: from 50 to 100 thousand rubles for athletes and half of this amount for coaches. By the end of the week, 11 athletes and 6 coaches will receive payments for the first time.
Regional authorities continue to develop professional and mass sports.
More than 200 official sports and physical education events were held in the outgoing season: the Russian Aeronautics Championship, the All-Russian archery competition “Nadezhda Rossii” and stages of the Russian Rally Cup.
At the ceremony, Mikhail Vedernikov presented a number of departmental and regional awards. Thus, members of the Pskov region national archery team, Nika Snetkova and Igor Nikolaev, received from the hands of the governor the certificate “Master of Sports of Russia of International Class”.
Mikhail Vedernikov presented badges “Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Pskov Region” to 5 coaches and instructors who were awarded honorary titles for personal merits in the development of children’s and youth sports and elite sports.
Another 50 athletes and coaches were thanked by the governor of the Pskov region for achieving high athletic results in various sports.
