The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, announced the cause of a normal but emergency situation.

The launch of the rocket with the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft was canceled due to “a voltage drop in the chemical current source,” said the head of Roscosmos, Borisov. RIA-Novosti reported this. In other words, one of the batteries of the complex did not work. As MK learned, she was responsible for disconnecting the fuel refueling mast – a mast-type metal structure designed to carry electrical cables and refueling communications.

Let us remind you that the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with a manned spacecraft was supposed to launch at 16.21 Moscow time. However, at the last minute, after the “Start” command, the automation worked, and the start was canceled at the countdown stage.

As MK was informed in the space industry, the cause of the emergency, which is nevertheless a normal one, was the refueling mast cable that did not retract properly. According to preliminary data, due to the same sagging battery, the electromagnets that held it were not disconnected.

According to experts, the astronauts who were ready for launch had to descend from the ship and return to the hotel for the first time in history. Russian Oleg Novitsky, Belarusian Marina Vasilevskaya and American Tracy Dyson were successfully evacuated to the ground using a special elevator.

Their health is normal. According to Borisov, Marina Vasilevskaya, who is to become the first Belarusian citizen to travel into space, did not even have a pulse rise from the experience.

The launch was postponed to March 23, at 15.36 Moscow time. By the way, if at today’s launch the flight pattern was designed for two orbits, on the second attempt it will be two days long.
