The Bank of Russia lowered the key rate to 7.5%

On September 16, at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia, it was decided to lower the key rate by 50 basis points – from 8% to 7.5% per annum. This was reported by the press service of the Central Bank.
The decision to cut the key rate again was made on the basis of key economic indicators, including low consumer price growth, lower headline inflation, positive business activity dynamics, and others.
Thus, according to the forecast of the Bank of Russia, inflation at the end of the year will be 11-13% in 2022, in 2023 it will decrease to 5-7%, and in 2024 it will return to the level of 4%.
The next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank, which will consider the issue of changing the key rate, is scheduled for October 28.
