The balance warned of a humanitarian catastrophe threatening Kherson

The city of Kherson, which is under the temporary control of the Ukrainian side, is threatened with a humanitarian catastrophe. This was stated by the Acting Governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo on the air of the Crimea 24 TV channel.

“A humanitarian catastrophe threatens the infrastructure of Kherson. It is systematically and unplannedly being destroyed by the very same “liberators”, as they (the Ukrainian side – ed. “RIA Novosti”) call themselves. They work in uncivilized ways. In mobile pickup trucks, on which mortars or machine guns are mounted, they drive in groups around the city, shoot and leave, ” declared Balance (quote from RIA Novosti)

The Acting Governor of the region stressed that the residents of Kherson are waiting for the return of Russia. Meanwhile, Saldo added that on the left-bank part of the Kherson region, residents are gradually returning to their usual lives. According to him, “people get used to living with the military.”

In December last year, the balance declaredthat the return of the right bank of the Kherson region to its composition is one of the key tasks in 2023. The list of tasks also includes the restoration of economic ties and assistance to civilians. He expressed confidence that Kherson would be returned under the control of the Russian side.

On November 9, 2022, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the withdrawal of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnieper after Sergei Surovikin, former commander of the Joint Group of Russian Forces, made a report on the situation in the NVO zone. He explained this by the desire to save the lives of military personnel and the combat effectiveness of the troops, which he called “unpromising” to keep on the right bank, in a limited area. On November 11, the Ministry of Defense reported on the completion of the withdrawal of troops from Kherson, the city is now under the control of Ukraine.
