On the night of August 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tried to land troops from two boats on the left bank of the Dnieper, both boats were destroyed. This was announced by the Acting Governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo.

“At night, Ukrainian armed formations tried to land the so-called “landing” from two boats on the left bank of the Dnieper near the village of Cossack camps. Servicemen of the “Dnepr” group of troops destroyed the boats while trying to moor, – wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

As a result, the Ukrainian servicemen ended up in the water and tried to swim to the right bank, they opened artillery and small arms fire. According to Saldo, “no one swam.”

The Acting Governor emphasized that there was no enemy in the area of ​​the Cossack Camps, the left bank of the Dnieper was under the control of Russian troops.

Saldo regularly reports on attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to cross the Dnieper and gain a foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper. The actions of the enemy are stopped by Russian troops. In the middle of July he declaredthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine are making unsuccessful attempts to land on the left bank of the Dnieper near the Antonovsky bridge. According to him, most of the boats are destroyed while still on the water. The Ukrainian military, who manage to land, “can only hide in the dachas”, where they are hit by Russian artillery.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. On September 30, 2022, following the results of referendums, these regions became part of Russia. Since October last year, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, martial law has been introduced in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
