The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are making unsuccessful attempts to land on the left bank of the Dnieper near the Antonovsky Bridge. This was announced by the Acting Governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo, transmits “RIA News”.

“The enemy does not stop trying to transfer small groups to the Antonovsky Bridge area on the left bank of the Dnieper, but it is impossible to say that he has entrenched himself there,” he said, noting that most of the boats are destroyed while still on the water.

According to Saldo, the Ukrainian military, who manage to disembark, “can only hide in the dachas.” The acting head of the region explained that the dachas are surrounded by swamps and the only road goes from the Antonovsky bridge. Saldo stressed that it is under the control of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation, so the enemy cannot advance from the dachas. He added that Russian artillery is destroying the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this territory.

Saldo regularly reports on attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to cross the Dnieper and gain a foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper. The actions of the enemy are stopped by Russian troops. At the end of June, the acting head of the Kherson region declaredthat Russian servicemen sank six boats with 30 Ukrainian servicemen who were trying to cross to the pillars of the Antonovsky bridge on the left bank. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not create any bridgeheads near the Antonovsky Bridge, and therefore the enemy has no offensive potential.

The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. During the hostilities, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. On September 30, 2022, following the results of referendums, these regions became part of Russia. Since October last year, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, martial law has been introduced in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
