On the territories of the Kherson region affected by the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP, flooding as such is no longer observed. Acting Governor Vladimir Saldo spoke about this in his Telegram channel. According to him, 2.5 thousand people returned to their homes.
“There is no more flooding as such — more than 90% of houses have been drained. Water continues to stand only in separate low places in Aleshki, Naked Pristan and Kokhany, ”— informs Mr. Saldo, noting that they continue to pump it out. Almost 30% of the total number of temporarily evacuees returned to their homes.
Now local authorities are taking measures to provide people with drinking water. Due to a decrease in the filling of the North Crimean and Kakhovskoye main canals, water supply turned out to be impossible somewhere, the acting governor reports. In some places, according to him, part of the artesian wells has become unusable in terms of sanitary indicators.
As a result of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP on June 6, part of the region turned out flooded. Moscow and Kyiv blame each other for what happened.
