The balance instructed to withdraw civilian boats of residents of the Kherson region in favor of the military

Acting Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo ordered to seize civilian boats in the region in order to transfer them to the military. He justified such measures with the Russian legislation on martial law – it has been in force on the territory of the annexed regions since October 19, 2022.

Vladimir Saldo announced his decision at a meeting of the regional government, TASS reports. The acting governor added that the owners of the boats, for whom they were the means of production, can receive compensation for their value through the regional administration. In addition, Vladimir Saldo assured that the boats could be returned “after a certain time.”

Earlier today, April 18, Vladimir Saldo declared about the contraction of the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) to force the Dnieper. He claimed that the Ukrainian army was “taking into service” almost the entire “small-tonnage fleet, small vessels, boats”, in particular those used by the inhabitants of Kherson. Mr. Saldo believes that in this way the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for the possible use of boats “for landing, transferring and crossing the Dnieper.”

Kherson region has been part of Russia since September 2022. Since November of the same year, the administrative center of the region – Kherson – has been under the control of Ukraine, since the Russian Ministry of Defense decided withdraw your troops from the city.
