In the Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, the threat to settlements from forest fires has been removed, reported in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
In the Sverdlovsk region today, May 10, active 57 forest fires on an area of 100 thousand hectares. Only 20 fires with a total area of 23.1 thousand hectares have been localized. Since May 5, a state of emergency has been introduced in the forests of the region, and since May 6, Ural residents have been banned from visiting forest parks.
Be-200 ChS and IL-76 aircraft, as well as a MI-8 helicopter, were involved in the elimination of forest fires in the Sverdlovsk region. More than 4.8 thousand people and 790 units of equipment are extinguishing forest fires.
In the Tyumen region operate 11 forest fires on an area of 4.4 thousand hectares, of which 4 forest fires are localized, there are also 4 landscape fires on an area of 745 hectares. To accommodate evacuated residents, 11 temporary accommodation centers with a total capacity of 1.5 thousand people have been opened in the region.
In the Tyumen region, an IL-76 aircraft and four helicopters are involved in extinguishing fires. More than 1.2 thousand people and 214 units of equipment are involved in the elimination of fires.
Recall that the situation with forest fires became more complicated at the end of April, when abnormally hot weather set in the Urals. As a result, more than 100 houses burned down in the Sverdlovsk village of Sosva. Residents of the village of Krasnoarmeisky were evacuated, in Pervomaisky fire destroyed two warehouses with gunpowder with a total area of 960 sq. m. In the Tyumen region burned down 13 houses in the village of Uspenka.
