The authorities of the Pskov region banned the flights of civilian drones

The Pskov region, located on the border with Estonia and Latvia, two NATO member countries, has decided to ban the launch of civilian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from May 5. The corresponding decree was signed by Governor Mikhail Vedernikov.
In accordance with the decree, the launch of civilian UAVs is prohibited, except when their use is prescribed by state authorities, local governments or required for monitoring pipelines, railway transport, assessing fire hazards and other similar purposes.
The Governor also noted that violation of this ban will have legal consequences in accordance with applicable law. He clarified that this decision was made on the basis of Presidential Decree No. 757 and will be in effect until the abolition of the basic readiness regime.
