In the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO), a state of emergency was introduced due to the shallowing of the Pechora River, said the head of the region, Yuri Bezdudny. The shallowing of the river led to the cessation of ferry traffic between the NAO and the Komi Republic.
“Pechora in some areas in the Komi Republic has become shallow. The prognosis is still unfavorable. People are returning from holidays and cannot get to Naryan-Mar. In this regard, I decided to introduce an emergency mode, ”wrote Yuri Bezdudny in his Telegram channel.
Mr. Bezdudny added that the authorities of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug are organizing passage along the Naryan-Mar-Usinsk road under construction for those who cannot leave Komi. In addition, the governor promised to launch export charters from Syktyvkar and an additional flight from Moscow.
