The authorities of the Kursk region reported about the shelling of the village of Popovo-Lezhachi by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On Saturday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fired on the village of Popovo-Lezhachi, Glushkovsky district, Kursk region, informed in his Telegram channel, the governor of the region Roman Starovoit.

“Three arrivals have been previously recorded. There were no casualties, but three private households were damaged,” he wrote.

According to the head of the region, as a result of the attack, the village was partially de-energized, repair teams are starting to eliminate the accident.

In the Kursk region, since December 21, the high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger has been extended in the Kursk region for another 15 days, Starovoit reported earlier. He explained the adoption of such a decision by the “stably tense operational situation” in the region.

Since the beginning of the week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have shelled the territory of the Kursk region three times. On December 19, the village of Elizavetovka in the Glushkovsky district came under attack. On the same day, the Ukrainian military tried to shell the village of Guevo, Sudzhansky district. In both cases, there were no casualties. On December 20, the Sudzhansky district again fell under the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result, one woman was injured.

After the start of the special operation, the Ukrainian military began to regularly shell the border regions of Russia. On October 19, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response was introduced in eight border regions, including Crimea, Sevastopol, Belgorod and Kursk regions. At the same time, Putin announced the introduction of martial law in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
