In Nikopol, Dnepropetrovsk region, they called for austerity of water after the breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. This was stated by the head of the district administration Yevgeny Yevtushenko in his Telegram channel.

“Friends, we turn on the brutal water saving mode. Both drinking and technical,” he wrote, then specifying that this applies to the entire Nikopol region. The settlement is located upstream of the Dnieper relative to the hydroelectric power station.

He noted that the authorities are working on the delivery of additional volumes of water. Yevtushenko asked to make supplies, if possible.

The breakthrough of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station occurred on the night of June 6.
