The Moldovan authorities declared the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov an undesirable person. This was announced by the official himself. His video message published in the Telegram channel of the Gagauznews Internet portal.
“Together with [депутатом Народного собрания Гагаузии] Viktor Petrov and [депутатом парламента АТО] Alexander Sukhodolsky, who recently visited our republic, we have outlined an extensive joint program of action. Unfortunately, the Moldovan authorities have decided that we are unwanted citizens who cannot visit this country. Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be able to take part in the Congress,” Minnikhanov explained.
The head of Tatarstan also congratulated the people of Gagauzia on Easter and expressed confidence that Petrov “will become a good link” between the Russian Federation and Tatarstan on the one hand and Gagauzia on the other. Minnikhanov noted that he learned about his status only upon arrival in Chisinau. According to the portal, the board with the Russian politician has already left Moldova.
