The authorities of Magadan explained the shortage of fuel with problems with its delivery

The governor of the Magadan region, Sergei Nosov, explained the shortage of diesel fuel in the region with the difficulties in transporting it by rail and through the ports of Primorsky Krai. According to him, in order to create fuel reserves in the region, fuel storage facilities will be created in the near future.

“Difficulties in the movement of the railway and with the work of ports. We are very dependent on it. And from the work of the Far Eastern ports in the Primorsky Territory, and from the work of the railway. We work in manual mode, we work with the management of Russian Railways, with each head of the railway and with the government of the Russian Federation. We have to move every train – from containers with medicines and food to tanks – in manual mode, ”the governor said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

According to the project fuel prices, for three months in the Far Eastern Federal District, diesel prices increased by 8 rubles. Heavy trucks delivering coal to the villages of the Magadan region and working in gold mines use only diesel. At the end of October, the authorities of the region set restrictions on petrol stations for the sale of diesel fuel due to the hype. At first, such measures were introduced for both heavy trucks and cars, but then the restrictions for cars were canceled.

As the governor of the Magadan region said, drivers of heavy trucks of large companies refuel at private gas stations, creating additional excitement. He believes that large companies should have a supply of fuel in such a case. According to him, the difficulties with the railway traffic “will not disappear overnight.”

At a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on October 21, Sergei Nosov said that he was counting on the stabilization of deliveries of goods and fuel to the region after the adoption of the law on “northern delivery.”

President of the Russian Fuel Union (RTS) Evgeny Arkusha spoke on the risks of a shortage of winter diesel in Russia due to increased exports. According to him, due to the fact that winter diesel is exported in large volumes, its prices are rising. In addition, as Mr. Arkusha said, middle distillates, or substitutes for diesel fuel, are also now mainly exported.
