On the territory of the port special economic zone (SEPZ) Ulyanovsk, the regional authorities plan to create a Belarusian industrial park, which will house subsidiaries of Belarusian enterprises operating in the field of warehouse and logistics services, a wholesale trade center, assembly plants of industrial enterprises. The PSEZ notes that assembly plants may be in the automotive and aircraft industries, and the logistics distribution center may eventually become a hub for Belarusian goods. Experts consider the reorientation of the PSEZ to cooperation with friendly countries promising, but they notice that it is still difficult to predict the success of the project development, since there has not been an explicit request from Belarusian investors to locate production facilities in Russia before.
