The National Migration Service of Argentina interviewed 350 pregnant Russian women who have recently entered the country. This was announced on Twitter by the head of the department, Florencia Carignano.
She noted that the migration service of the country recorded a sharp increase in the number of entries of Russian citizens, so it was decided to interview 350 Russian women who were in late pregnancy.
According to the country’s authorities, “mafia organizations” have recently become more active, offering pregnant Russian women a package of “services” that simplifies the acquisition of Argentine citizenship, subject to the birth of a child in the country.
The attractiveness of Argentine citizenship is explained by the fact that it, among other things, allows you to make short-term trips to 171 countries without visas.
On February 10, it became known that the Argentine authorities did not allow six pregnant Russian women to enter the country because they could not explain the purpose of their visit. At the same time, only on the night of February 9, 33 Russian citizens arrived in Buenos Aires in late pregnancy.
Later it became known that Russian women stuck at the airport were still allowed to enter the country. At the same time, the Argentine authorities began to suspend residence permits (permits) for Russians who received it through the birth of a child, but did not stay in the country.
