The experiment starts on June 1
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia plans to conduct an experiment on marking individual pyrotechnic products, fire extinguishers and other fire-fighting equipment with means of individual identification. Developed by the Ministry document submitted for public discussion on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
Pyrotechnic products of classes I, II and III will be taken under control. These are various kinds of firecrackers, fireworks, signal flares – all pyrotechnics that can be sold at retail. There are two more classes – but these are professional pyrotechnics, and their circulation is still controlled.
In addition, compositions and charges for fire extinguishers, fire detectors, uninterruptible power supplies for technical equipment of fire automatic systems, etc. will be marked.
The purpose of the experiment is to prevent illegal trafficking in fire hazardous products and fire extinguishing agents, as well as to prepare potential participants in the “fire” trade for the introduction of mandatory labeling. For most, participation in the experiment is voluntary. Mandatory participants are only the departments supervising the experiment.
It is expected that the experiment will last from June 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025. By the beginning of it, an information system should be created through which tax and other authorized departments will be able to monitor the processes of production, sale and purchase of pyrotechnics and fire extinguishing agents.
