Composer Evgeny Shiryaev was seen off on his last journey in St. Petersburg. The author of the hits Joseph Kobzon, Sofia Rotaru, Masha Rasputina, Aziza and other celebrities was buried today at the Bolsheokhtinskoye cemetery.
“We said goodbye to Evgeniy Alexandrovich for two days,” the composer’s close friend, singer Mila Romanidi, told MK. – Yesterday we said goodbye to our maestro in Odintsovo, where he lived in recent years. The closest people came. Everyone cried: there are probably no more people like Evgeniy Alexandrovich. His son said very correct words: “By character he was the Salvador Dali of music.”
Today, mourning events continued in St. Petersburg, where Shiryaev found his final refuge.
“It was no coincidence that Evgeniy Alexandrovich was buried in St. Petersburg,” continues Romanidi. – He was born in Leningrad, loved this city until his very last days and spent a lot of time there.
During the funeral ceremony, relatives said that Shiryaev left behind many new works that no one had ever heard.
“Evgeniy Aleksandrovich has recently created a huge amount of gorgeous music: he worked until the last day,” says Romanidi. – I will definitely write them down soon.
Let us recall that the cause of death of Evgeny Shiryaev was a heart attack, which the composer could not immediately recognize.
