The number of Russian ChatGPT users has decreased by 30% over the past month, Tele2 analysts calculated (absolute figures are not provided). This is the first drop in service traffic since its launch in November 2022. The reduction in the ChatGPT audience in Russia was also confirmed by Konstantin Romanov, director of AI and digital products at Beeline.
A representative of MegaFon told Vedomosti that the total traffic on the Openai.com, Chatgpt.ai and Chatgptbot.ru websites fell by 2 times from May to June. In addition to ChatGPT, user activity has also decreased in the Midjourney neural network, which creates images from text descriptions, Tele2 analysts noted. According to the company, in June the drop was more than 50% compared to May.
