For the first time in the Kola Arctic, the Atomic Puck Hockey Cup will be held in honor of the 50th anniversary of the launch of the first power unit of the Kola NPP. The event will take place at the Ice Palace in the city of Polyarnye Zori on December 1 and 2.
Among the participants are five teams from the Novovoronezh, Leningrad, Kalinin and Kola nuclear power plants, as well as the Central Office of Rosenergoatom Concern.
The Kola NPP team is represented by 13 employees of the enterprise. These are multiple winners of the Murmansk ice hockey championships, winter sports competitions and Atomiads.
“Hockey is one of the toughest and most spectacular sports. The fight will be intense, but our athletes are determined,” commented Alexei Trotsky, chief secretary of the Atomic Puck Cup.
He also wished the athletes good results, an unshakable will to win, smooth ice and accurate shots.
In total, the region will host over 100 sporting events in December. Previously “MK in Murmansk” reportedthat the Minister of Sports Svetlana Naumova spoke about the main physical education events.
