“Five years ago you instructed me to head the Astrakhan region. Residents voted for me in the elections. Vladimir Putin responded by saying that a lot of work has been done in the region in recent years and the indicators are “generally satisfactory.” According to him, before the elections it is necessary to go out to people and get an assessment of the candidates from local residents.

At a meeting with the president, Igor Babushkin also said that over five years the consolidated budget of the region has grown from 60 billion rubles. up to 90 billion rubles. Since 2019, according to him, the volume of housing commissioning has doubled, 2.6 thousand people have been relocated from dilapidated housing. He also noted that the special port economic zone is of great importance for the region.
