Most of the employees of the military registration and enlistment offices “are respectable”, and the mass dismissal of the military commissars will not solve the problems of the flight of conscripts abroad, director of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Novikov said on the air of the telethon.
According to him, the facts of violations established by the NACP are due to the fact that only certain employees of the military registration and enlistment offices abuse their official position.
“If we don’t change the system and just start appointing other people, even after the front, even those who went through the battles, they will integrate into the existing system and we will still get corruption as a result. Therefore, first it is necessary to change the rules by which the military enlistment offices and the rules for crossing the border function,” Novikov said.
Earlier, Zelensky said that all regional military commissars would be fired, and those who wished to retain their rank would be sent to the combat zone, and those with combat experience would be appointed to their positions. The armed formations of Ukraine doubt the correctness of Zelensky’s decision to dismiss all regional military commissars, writes the New York Times.
