The XXIX All-Russian race “Crocuses of Beshtau” starts in Zheleznovodsk on April 6. “Crocuses of Beshtau” is an upward running competition.

1000 athletes from all over the country will run a 10 km route with elevation changes of up to 888 m up to the highest mountain of the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody. The age of athletes has a wide range – from 13 to 65 years.

“Once again we meet athletes from all over the country who are ready to demonstrate their endurance. Athletes of various sizes take part: masters of sports of international class, multiple champions of Russia and not only of mountain running, but also on the track and in the marathon. The route of Mount Beshtau is considered the most difficult in Russia. Of course, not everyone can handle the difficult terrain and elevation changes. For our resort this is already a traditional competition. Success and great victories to all participants,” said the head of Zheleznovodsk, Evgeny Bakulin.

It was previously reported that martial arts champions will conduct exercises for residents of Essentuki.
