The amount of physical activity that prevents early death has been identified

Scientists from Norway have concluded that people who sit for more than 12 hours a day face a 38 percent increased risk of early death compared with those who sit for 8 hours a day if they devote little time to physical activity. 22 minutes is considered sufficient time of physical activity to reduce this risk.
An additional 10 minutes of physical activity reduced the risk of early death by 15 percent for those who sat for less than 10.5 hours per day and by 35 percent for those who sat for more than 10.5 hours per day.
The results were obtained after collecting information on 11,989 volunteers over 50 years of age. The scientists, who published their work in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, clarify that their work does not provide direct evidence of a cause-and-effect relationship between a specific amount of physical activity and longevity.
