The official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan scheduled for autumn is of great importance. Dauren Abaev, Ambassador of the Republic to Russia, spoke about this informed during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
On August 18, Lavrov and Abaev held a meeting during which they discussed the prospects for cooperation between the countries and topical issues on both the regional and international agendas.
The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia noted that Abayev pointed to the confidential, honest and active nature of the dialogue between the leaders of the two countries. “In this context, great importance is attached to the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan scheduled for autumn to participate in the Forum of Interregional Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation,” the report says.
“The mutual disposition to further strengthen Russian-Kazakhstani relations, which are developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance, has been confirmed,” noted at the Russian Foreign Ministry following the meeting. The issues of joint events at the highest and high levels were also touched upon.
Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan discussed during a telephone conversation between the Russian leader and President of the Republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on June 24. Then Tokayev said that his Russian colleague could come to Kazakhstan in the autumn.
The forum of interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia this year will be held in the Kazakh city of Kostanay. Specific dates for the event were not announced. In 2022, the forum was held on November 28 in Orenburg. Putin and Tokayev took part in it via videoconference.
