Ambassador of Mexico Mejias explained the difficulties with the resumption of flights with Russia
Mexican Ambassador to Moscow Eduardo Villegas Mejias said that his country is open to resuming direct flights with the Russian Federation, but it is difficult to implement such plans in the near future.
“It will be very difficult,” the diplomat said. “Because of the logistics, it is difficult to do so.”
According to the ambassador, there are alternative routes. So, he said that representatives of one of the airports in Moscow contacted the Mexican side and said “that it is possible to fly through the North Pole.” However, such flights require long-haul aircraft, the fleet of which, as a rule, only large airlines have, “and their partners are usually in countries that have imposed sanctions against Russia.”
