The All-Russian Spartakiad of Students brought four medals to Yaroslavl short track speed skaters

The Sochi Olympic Park in the Iceberg Ice Palace became the venue for the XII Winter Spartakiad of the country’s short track students.
Speed skaters aged 16-17 represented 19 Russian regions. Our region was represented by ten athletes from the regional center and Rybinsk. Individual races and a relay race brought four medals to the young Yaroslavl residents.
In the 500 m race, students of the Rybinsk school Sasha Shcheglova and Matvey Rudakov won silver and bronze medals. The next day, with a one-kilometer race, Matvey brought another bronze.
The Yaroslavl team finished the mixed 3 km relay, in which 13 teams took part, in third place. Our athletes were only one point short of reaching the third step of the podium. But they still have everything ahead, we wish the guys new victories!
