The commander of the Akhmat special detachment, Apty Alaudinov, told RIA Novosti that the fighters of the Wagner PMC are transferring to special forces units and arriving in the special operation zone in Ukraine. According to him, the Wagnerites had gone over to him before, but now “there has been a massive replenishment” from the detachments of this private military company.
According to Apta Alaudinov, there are also commanders among those transferring to Akhmat – he did not name names. According to him, PMC fighters choose Akhmat because of the similar structure between commanders and employees in the unit, as well as because of the high level of provision of Akhmat with everything necessary for combat operations.
Mr. Alaudinov called the participants of “Wagner” heroes, whom he always “treated with great respect.” According to him, the Wagner fighters treated the Akhmat with the same respect, since both formations repeatedly found themselves next to each other during hostilities.
After the armed rebellion of the founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, on June 23-24, President Vladimir Putin invited the PMC participants to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense or “go to Belarus.” In July, it became known that the Wagnerites were located in a camp near the Belarusian village of Osipovichi – there they trained the Belarusian military.
On August 23, a private plane Embraer Legacy 600 crashed in the Tver region, carrying Evgeny Prigozhin and PMC commander Dmitry Utkin. All ten people on board died.
