The Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan plans to conclude an agreement with Roscosmos

The National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan intends to conclude a cooperation agreement with the Russian state corporation Roscosmos. This was announced by the President of the Academy Farhod Rahimi, writes TASS.

“Soon we will sign an agreement with the state corporation Roskosmos, I hope that we will sign this agreement at the end of September,” Rahimi said. The Academy plans to implement joint projects to study space, in particular space debris, asteroids and comets that threaten the Earth.

The head of the academy believes that Tajikistan is suitable for space exploration. Rahimi compared the work of observatories in the Crimea (100-120 nights) and St. Petersburg (60-70 nights) with the republic, which, according to him, has “320 open nights.” He noted that the academy has concluded about 60 agreements with active Russian scientists.

In early January, Roscosmos informed on agreements with two Iranian companies – SAHAB and SpaceOmid – in the field of launch services. Prior to this, in December 2022, the head of the Iranian Space Agency, Hassan Salariyeh, stated that Tehran and Moscow had signed a memorandum on cooperation in the space sector.

April 26, Director General of Roscosmos Yury Borisov toldthat colleagues from Asian, African and even European countries are ready to cooperate with Russia in space. He noted that Moscow would not self-isolate on this issue. Borisov stressed that space should be out of politics.
