The Channel One Hockey Cup will take place in December this year in St. Petersburg. The tournament games will take place at the Ice Palace of the northern capital.
According to the press service of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF), the hockey teams of the Russian Federation, Belarus, China and Kazakhstan will take part in the upcoming tournament. The Channel One Cup games will take place from December 14 to 17, 2023.
“I have no doubt that the players and coaching staff will try to do their job as best as possible in order to please the fans with a spectacular, signature Russian style, and turn the tournament into a holiday,” said FHR President Vladislav Tretyak.
The Russia-25 team will play as representatives of the Russian Federation in this tournament (the age limit for players called up to it is 25 years). The head coach of this team in the framework of the First Channel Cup will be the coach of the St. Petersburg hockey club SKA Roman Rotenberg (he also holds the post of head of the headquarters of the Russian national hockey teams in the structure of the Russian Hockey Federation).
