Thailand will try to include the national martial arts Muay Thai or Thai boxing in the official program of the Olympic Games. The publication reports this Bangkok Post.

Phathong Than Shinawatra, chairwoman of the National Soft Power Strategy Committee and leader of the ruling Phua Thai Party, said Thai fans would one day be able to cheer on Muay Thai athletes at the Olympics. She also noted that it is necessary to introduce a belt ranking system similar to Korean taekwondo to increase the popularity of this type of martial arts among foreigners.

At the moment, Thailand continues to work towards including Muay Thai in the official program of the Olympic Games.
