The Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region noted the winner of the regional competition “Athlete of the Month” based on the results of October – Gleb Solovyov, a young Thai boxer. This was reported in the press service of the department.
Thirteen-year-old Gleb won the world championship in Thai boxing (Muaythai), held in the Turkish city of Kemer. The competition brought together 1,500 talented young fighters from 77 countries.
The Sakhalinian competed as part of the Russian team in the absolute weight category “71+ kg” and successfully dealt with rivals from Montenegro and Turkey, who were 20 kg heavier than him.
