In St. Petersburg, a criminal case was opened against roofers who conducted illegal tours on rooftops in the historic center of the city. As it became known to Kommersant, the organizers are charged with providing services that do not meet safety requirements (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). At the moment, this is the first criminal case against rufer guides in St. Petersburg.
Earlier the police during the week spent a series of verification activities on the announcements of such walks. As a result, about 20 roofers were brought to administrative responsibility for carrying out entrepreneurial activities without registration and special permission (Article 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
As explained to “Kommersant” in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, after the May raids, the materials were transferred to the TFR, which found criminal staff in the activities of the organizers.
The average cost of such a walk varied from 500 to 1 thousand rubles. For the purposes of secrecy, payment, as a rule, was transferred through an online bank to the guide’s account. None of the excursions were provided with security measures due to being on the roof, police said.
