Testing of the Il-114 passenger aircraft has resumed – Kommersant

PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) has resumed flight tests of the Il-114-300 passenger aircraft. Press service Rostec“reported that the second prototype aircraft of this type made its first flight. Testing was suspended in 2021 due to a plane crash.
“The resumption of the flight test program is an important step towards the creation of a new aircraft for regional transport<...> The aircraft is being created for operation, including in difficult climatic conditions,” the press service quotes the words of Daniil Brenerman, managing director of Il PJSC.
A press release from Rostec reports that the second prototype Il-114 type aircraft made its first flight from the airfield of PJSC UAC – LAZ named after. P. A. Voronina. The plane was piloted by a crew consisting of chief pilot Sergei Sukhar, test pilot Igor Zinov and on-board engineer Oleg Gryazev. The flight lasted 40 minutes, the plane flew at an altitude of up to 900 m and at speeds of up to 230 km/h.
The Il-114 aircraft testing program began in December 2020. On August 17, 2021, a prototype of the Il-112V military transport aircraft crashed. There were three people on board; the crew commander was Honored Test Pilot, Hero of Russia Nikolai Kuimov. All crew members died. After this, the IL-114 test programs were suspended.
