Terrorist Breivik lost his case against the state

Anders Breivik, a convicted serial killer, has lost his lawsuit against the Norwegian government, Reuters reports. He argued that the authorities were violating his human rights, and also wanted to end his isolation in prison.
Far-right extremist Breivik went to court in January, objecting to the conditions of his imprisonment. During the hearing, he described the difficult isolation conditions, saying it made him feel suicidal.
However, a new psychological assessment showed no signs of depression or suicidal ideation for Breivik, confirming he is doing well.
The District Court in Oslo concluded that the conditions of detention were not disproportionately burdensome and did not violate the rights of the prisoner.
Breivik intends to appeal the decision as his lawyer argues that improving conditions is important for his client, who has already spent 12 years in isolation.
Breivik killed 77 people on July 22, 2011, most of them teenagers. He is serving a 21-year sentence, but his sentence can be extended as long as he is considered a threat to society.
