The administration of the lyceum denies the Internet schedule. Allegedly, a completely different list of classes is on the official website of the lyceum. There is a six-day school week. Schoolchildren study on Saturday so that on weekdays there is no excess in the number of lessons.

However, students say the opposite: in order not to go out on Saturday, teachers cram their daily schedule to capacity.

A teacher from one of the Moscow schools commented on the situation.

– Our school also has a 10th period. We deliberately did this to give the children a rest on the weekend. This happens by mutual consent. We have to do this because the school curriculum is packed to capacity. The administration is trying to sit on two chairs: to please both the students and the Department of Education.

Let us remind you that according to the norms, the total volume of workload during the day should not exceed:

– for 1st grade students – 4 lessons and once a week 5 lessons at the expense of a physical education lesson;

– for students in grades 2-4 – 5 lessons and once a week 6 lessons at the expense of a physical education lesson;

– for students in grades 5-7 – no more than 7 lessons;

– for students in grades 8-11 – no more than 8 lessons.

That is, the situation is clear – either a six-day school week, or exceeding the norms.

How to deal with the “overdose” of lessons that develops in high school, explains medical psychologist and cognitive behavioral therapist Eva Egorova.

– As a result of such stress, children may have problems with sleep, concentration, and increased nervous excitability. If such a load becomes the norm, you can safely prepare for disturbances in the endocrine system – problems with excess weight, for example, are often activated due to chronic stress. Neuroses and mental disorders – the scourge of our time – are also a consequence of trying to do everything at once.

– What to do? After all, the race for Unified State Examination points begins in high school?

– If you cannot avoid overload, at least try to take control of the three main components of a teenager’s health: quality sleep, healthy eating and physical activity. It would also be useful to remember about the psychological health of your child and closely monitor his emotional state. After all, finishing school is only the beginning of a new life, in which health will still be very useful!
