Tennis player Andrei Rublev won the first Masters tournament in his career

Russian Andrey Rublev defeated Dane Holger Rune in the final of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters tournament in Monte Carlo. The game lasted 2 hours 34 minutes and ended with the score 5:7, 6:2, 7:5 in favor of the Russian. The tournament was held on clay courts, its prize fund exceeds €5.7 million.
For the 25-year-old Russian, this is the third entry into the finals of the Masters category tournament and the first title. Previously, he lost twice in the final: in April 2021 he lost to the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (3:6, 3:6), in August of the same year – to the representative of Germany Alexander Zverev (2:6, 3:6).
Rublev has 15 victories in ATP tournaments. In particular, he is the owner of the 2021 Davis Cup, as well as the 2021 ATP Cup, which he received as part of the Russian team.
