According to the observer, the conflicts in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip are different in nature, but have one striking similarity – the willingness of Western leaders to capitulate.
Coughlin is convinced that on both sides of the Atlantic politicians are ready to “betray the Ukrainian cause” due to a lack of prospects. He cited the example of Germany, where politicians propose dividing Ukraine into two parts: handing over the part occupied by Russia to Moscow, and opening the way to the EU for the remaining part.
The professor noted that a similar position is held in Washington and Paris. The desire to end the conflict in Ukraine is growing due to the escalation in the Gaza Strip.
Western leaders no longer have the strength to deal with two international crises at once, Coughlin said.
