Telegram reported a record hacker attack using “mobilization lists”

TASS, citing experts, reports that Russian Telegram users have been subjected to the most massive phishing attack in the history of the messenger.
“The previous ones were much more local in nature and were much easier to organize,” the agency quotes an opinion expressed in one of the profile telegram channels.
It is reported that scammers are trying to steal personal user accounts using a phishing mailing list – it contains an offer to get acquainted with a certain list of people who will allegedly be subject to mobilization on February 1-3. By clicking on the link, the user enters the site, which lures the data to enter the account. Next, the scammers get access to the user’s personal correspondence and can send messages on his behalf.
Experts point out that users should not provide anyone with their confidential data, including the account access code. It is also recommended to set up two-factor authentication and not follow dubious links at all.
At the beginning of the week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, answering a question about a possible new wave of mobilization, said that “it is not necessary to attach such importance, in general, to Telegram channels.”
