The Telegram messenger intends to transfer 50% of advertising revenue to the authors of channels with 1 thousand or more subscribers. Rewards will be paid through Toncoin, a cryptocurrency based on the TON blockchain. As Telegram notes, “TON-based advertisements are not displayed to users from a number of countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Palestine and Israel.”

Innovations are discussed on website messenger. It is assumed that funds will be transferred to channel owners for displaying advertisements in their channels. The reward can be withdrawn without commission or used for advertisements, collection addresses or drawings for Telegram Premium subscriptions.

Official advertising on Telegram appeared in November 2021. Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced at the end of February 2024 that advertisers from “about a hundred new countries” would be able to connect to the platform built into the messenger. Owners of Telegram channels in these countries will have access to monetization using the revenue sharing model – 50% of advertising revenue will be transferred to them.
