On October 23, the final match of the 2023 season of the Golden Ring Championship took place for the youth team of the Ivanovo Tekstilshchik. The red-blacks hosted at home the rivals representing FC Cherepovets – the main competitors in the fight for 2nd place at the end of the 2023 season. The players from Ivanovo in the home match against Cherepovets could have ended the season on a positive note and secured silver medals, but everything went according to a different scenario.
The confrontation between Tekstilshchik and Cherepovets ended with the victory of the guests from the Vologda region. The closest reserve of the main team of the Ivanovo region led with a score of 1:0, but Cherepovets scored 3 goals and took the lead. 25 minutes before the final whistle, the guests scored an own goal, but Tekstilshchik-m was unable to win back and suffered a second home defeat at the end of the 2023 season.
Thus, the fate of 2nd place in the Golden Ring Championship will be decided in the confrontation between Cherepovets and Dynamo from Vologda. If Cherepovets wins, then Tekstilshchik-m will be content with only 3rd position.
