Teachers will be taught to switch children’s attention from gadgets to textbooks

How to make physics interesting and apply the possibilities of virtual reality in the classroom? Is it easy to switch a child’s attention from gadgets to participating in school theater? Is there a universal “recipe” for building a constructive teacher-parent relationship? And why are there so many myths about child brain development?
Moscow teachers will be able to get answers to these and other questions within the framework of an educational series of lectures and seminars, which will be held under the single title: “The School of the Modern Teacher: X-Lab at the Russian Academy of Education (X-Lab in the Russian Academy of Education)”. The classes will be taught by scientists and representatives of the professional community of the Russian Academy of Education.
The School of the Modern Teacher will work within the framework of five laboratories: the laboratory of theory and methods of teaching school subjects; an art therapy pedagogical laboratory, within which participants will be able to take master classes on creating a school theater; laboratories of pedagogical technologies of training and education; Talent Development Laboratories; and Network Educational Environment Laboratories.
The classes will last two months. During this time, teachers should learn to understand and reveal the psychological mechanisms of internal motivation of students through interest in obtaining new knowledge and skills, understand the impact of information technology and the media on the formation of teenage and youth culture and subculture, understand how gadgets affect the development and psycho-emotional state and child’s health. They also have to learn how to organize the work of the school theater and find out how the child’s brain actually works.
